So, I made a mash-up, and it doesn't sound like total crap (yay!). Nothing fancy, just combining two covers of the same song so it becomes a duet. Near the end the male vocals completely overpower the female vocals, and I forgot to change the volume on all parts where that happened >_> Oh well. Anyway, here. The song is Celluloid (originally a Vocaloid song by Hatsune Miku), sang by Che:櫻井 (female vocals) and SquaDus (male vocals). Both are singers from Nico Nico Douga (well, SquaDus also uploads his stuff on youtube, but yeah).

Since I've been on the internet today, I've run into racism, rape victim blaming, "Celebrities aren't really people, so who cares if they were raped, they probably only said they were for the attention" sentiments, and recently, Pepsi coming with an iPhone app with 24 "types" of women, tips to pick them up, along with crappy artwork, and a brag list where users can put the types they've banged, and details about them; all at once.

Anyway, the reason I was away for so long is because my computer went nuts, and my graphics card went splodie. So, since my computer was 5 years old, and probably not compatible with... Most new hardware, I got a new one. Since I had to go with my dad, and he's a pain in the butt to shop with, that took a looooooooooong time. And now, I finally convinced him to buy one, and after sorting out some issues with connecting to the internet... I  now have a shiny new HP Pavilion. :D

So, what'd I miss?

Missing person, last seen on 9/22/09, in St. Charles/Geneva (Illinois). 20 years old female, 5'5" tall, 125 Lbs., short brown hair, brown eyes (wears glasses). Wearing a denim skirt and white shirt. Sometimes, I just want to give up on people...

Here I was, browsing TV Tropes, when I came across the trope, Girls Need Role Models. In it, someone linked to an article summing up a debacle that was started a few months ago, when a blogger made a post asking Pixar to maybe consider making a movie with a female lead. As you can imagine, there were a lot of people throwing fits, and pointing out examples that just show they missed the point (mostly male, oddly enough).

Anyway, I went to read the article, and being the masochist that I am, I went to the comments. Most of them was what you'd expect, from people saying "WELL YOU'RE NOT CLEAR ENOUGH!", "YOU SHOULDN'T FORCE THEM TO CHANGE THEIR WAYS!", and the assorted stupidity... And then I saw this gem (comment 76, text behind cut for the linkaphobes)...

So...

Over the past few days, my computer has decided that a Blue Screen of Death every half hour or so, was just what I needed. After having it happen even after I used Chkdsk, and after I repaired my Windows installation, I decided that deleting everything and re-installing windows was just what my computer needed. And so I did. Currently trying to put my computer back together.

Sorry James, but this may mean that my chapter will only be delivered to you tomorrow, even if I finish it today.

In other news, I started my CAE classes today. The cost is a lot, and the time tables makes it rather hard to balance it with school when it starts, and then there's the gym my parents made me join... Well, we'll see what happens. If it all comes down to me giving up one of them, I'll give up the gym.


... Funnily enough, the problems I've been having with my computer and sound seem to have also been fixed with all this... Huh...

Now, if only Cambridge would get off their asses and send over the certificate...

And then they tell me that they're no longer sure when classes will begin, and will let me know when they do. Figures.

On the other hand, this also means that I get a new computer (well, most likely a laptop), so... YAY!

Seriously now, how stupid do you have to be to think that excuse would actually work?

I love it when kid's show get more adult thing past the radar. Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, Episode 6, Portuguese dub (could have been in the Spanish and Japanese versions too, but idk):

Setting: Big Bad (Gaito) is bathing in a pool possibly naked. Female Sidekick (Maria) walks in.

Gaito: Wow, you're here already... Maria.
Maria: Master... I see you called for the best.
Gaito: Are you really the best?
Maria: *giggles and wraps arm around Gaito* When I say the best...  I don't mean just the hunting.But you know... That'd I'd do anything to satisfy your wishes, dear Gaito.

And then, a few lines later:

Gaito: Maria, you freeze the blood in my veins.
Maria: I know... But I could also make it boil...
Gaito: Bring me those mermaids. Then you'll play with my blood.

And the voice actors played these lines in pretty flirty tones. I should point out for most of my f-list, that this is a kid's show, in a channel that airs mostly cartoons, and targeted at children. The show is also aired at times where children could easily watch it. In short, they got crap past the radar, and I love it. <3

So, I had an interview earlier today... Hopefully, it was good enough to get me in the school I'm aiming for.I was so nervous... The only thing I'm really sure that went well was when the interviewer asked me to write a text in English, and to read/translate another text.


In other news, if I do get in, that means I'll have to get another computer. Best way to convince one's parents to buy another computer ever! \o/

Another trailer translated. I can't seem to find anything else when it comes to Portuguese movies. :| There is a series of web originals that I'd like to translate, but everyone speaks in a way that I'm not quite sure how to translate. Ah well, anyway... This time, it's the trailer for a movie called Call Girl, which is well, about a call girl. Pretty straight forward... No need for translator notes or anything, much like the first one. :/
